Any boarder who wishes to leave campus for the weekend must receive the Dean of Students’ permission. In order to do this, the boarder must get a weekend permission form, fill it out, sign it, and turn it into the Dean of Students’ Office by Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. Permission must also come from the parent or guardian who knows where the student will be on the weekend. If the student is going to visit a schoolmate’s home, permission must come from the student’s own parent and host parent. All parent permissions must come to the Dean of Students’ Office before Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Permissions may be granted by any of the following means:
- Written permission may be faxed to 301-733-8245
- Permission may be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Permission may be given via voice message on the School’s weekend permission mailbox at 301-733-9330 Ext. 3152.
- Complete and Submit the Weekend Campus Leave Form, below.
For further information about Permissions visit: Student Handbook Page (pages 15-16)
Visit the link below for the Saint James School Book List for the 16/17 academic year. The list includes required books for History, Math, Science, and Foreign Language classes. Books for English classes are not included on the list, as students are required to purchase books for English classes from the school store.
This year there is an abundance of used books available in the store which are being offered at prices significantly lower than retail. We doubt you will be able to find better deals on the internet. The school store has a full supply of books for each class, so there is no need to purchase books in advance. If you have questions about the Book List, please contact Heather Marshall, School Store Manager.
The English Department created reading assignments for all students, new and returning, to encourage and reinforce the idea of Saint James School as a community of readers. This common experience, and these shared stories, will hopefully create lively and new conversations, friendships, and classroom discussions in our early opening fall days together. For required readings, visit: 2016 Summer Reading List
All current parents are members of the Parents’ Association and are invited to participate in Parents’ Association meetings and activities. For more information on how to get involved, visit: Parents' Association Page
