Thank you for your interest in Saint James School! We are very proud to be the country’s oldest Episcopal boarding school founded in 1842 by the leaders of the Oxford Movement, who were committed to the formation of character in community. Today, we remain faithful to their initial vision of intellectual, physical, spiritual, and moral development of students.
Located in the serene rolling farmlands of western Maryland, an hour drive from both Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, Maryland, Saint James is situated on a 900-acre campus just a few miles from the famous Civil War Antietam Battlefield.
I encourage you to explore our website to find out more about our academic program, highlighted by our challenging college preparatory core-curriculum, our athletic program including 33 athletic teams competing in 12 interscholastic sports, our strong, yet personalized fine arts program, our active residential life program, and the school’s religious life. Even though our strong, well-balanced programs are more often found in larger schools, we believe that young students are raised best in close relationship with each other and with adults who care for them. We, therefore, are committed to our enduring character as a small, coeducational boarding school of 225 students from 14 states and 8 foreign countries.
To find out more about our wonderful school or to see our beautiful campus in person, please fill out the on-line inquiry form or call our office at 301.733.9330 to schedule a campus visit. I look forward to working with you through the admission process and to welcoming you to Saint James!
Sincerely,
Drew M. Lineberger
