Coach: Molly Lachut
The 2022 campaign was a one of immense growth for the Saints. Coming off a winless season and adjusting to a new coaching staff, the players worked hard to increase the expectations of themselves and their teammates on the field. Thanks to a strong defense anchored by Lisa Wang (Sixth Form) and Jordan Hughes (Fourth Form), the team began the season with back-to-back shutout wins, scoring more goals in those two games alone than they scored all last season. Over the course of the season, Sabrina Harman (Third Form) and Renee Sullivan (Fourth Form) each netted four goals to lead the Saints.
The team had easily its strongest corps of midfielders in the past decade in Page Bacon (Sixth Form), Olivia Topham (Fifth Form), and Payton Dotson (Third Form). The Saints graduate five seniors: Wang, Bacon, Michelle Wan, Paige Sluzalis, and Emily Dellaposta. Despite losing some key contributors, the future is bright for Saint James field hockey. All but three of the Saints’ losses this season were by just one goal and 50 percent of this year’s starting lineup was fourth form or younger, so this is a team on the rise!
