Boys Varsity Lacrosse

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team staked claim to the top spot amongst Washington County teams last week. On Monday, they used 15 saves from Sixth Form Captain Tucker Almany, and an overtime goal from Sixth Form Captain Jaret Mahoney to defeat St. Maria Goretti 9-8. On Friday night, the Saints traveled to North Hagerstown High School and defeated the host Hubs by a score of 15-2.

Girls Varsity Lacrosse

The Girls Varsity Lacrosse team had a very strong week last week beating two "rivals". On Thursday they defeated Boonsboro, one of the best public school teams in the area, 12-10. The Girls returned to play on Saturday and defeated IPSL foe St. John's Catholic Prep 19-18.

Boys Varsity Baseball

The Boys Varsity Baseball team went 3-0 against local, non-league competition last week. With wins over Clear Spring (9-3), Williamsport (8-5), and Musselman (5-0), the Saints confirmed that they are a team to be reckoned with on the diamond this spring.

Boys Junior Basketball

The Boys' Junior Basketball team used some late game heroics to make some history on Thursday against Northern Middle. In the closing minutes of the game big man Marc Mbayo made a late free-throw to give the Saints a 31-30 lead. The Saints closed out the game by playing solid defense. Jalen Miller led the team in scoring with 17 points. This is the Saints first ever victory over Northern Middle.

Girls Cross Country

Not so much a team in the traditional sense; this group of girls, who are all members of another team during the fall season, decided they wanted to contribute more by competing in the IPSL Cross Country meet last Friday. Although it was their first and only competition, the girls still earned a third place finish.

Boys JV Soccer

The Boys JV Soccer team had a week that displayed their improvement as a team since the beginning of the season. On Thursday the Saints hosted St. Andrew's Episcopal; a team which had defeated Saints 2-0 a few weeks earlier. In the rematch the Saints fought hard and earned a 1-1 draw with the visiting Lions. In their second game of the week, the Saints hosted Clear Spring for the second time this season, after previously falling to the the Blazers 11-0 in a scrimmage. This time the Saints game to play, and again earned a 1-1 draw.

Varsity Volleyball

The ladies of the Saint James volleyball team won two big IPSL match ups last week. They defeated St. Maria Goretti on Tuesday and Mercersburg on Saturday, both while playing with a depleted roster.

Girls Varsity Soccer

The Girls Varsity Soccer team was healthy and it showed. The Saints won both of their games last week by a combined score of 8-2. On Thursday they defeated Spring Mills 6-1; on Saturday they traveled to Bishop Walsh and topped the Spartans with a score of 2-1. The Girls are now 5-4 on the season.

Varsity Golf

The Varsity Golf team went 1-1 vs MAC competition last week. The one win was the team's first win in MAC play since 2013. They followed up their first MAC victory with a 4th place finish at the Dr. Marshall Glenn Invitational, their best finish since 2009.

JV and Varsity Field Hockey

The JV and Varsity Field Hockey teams came to play last Friday when they hosted Sidwell Friends. The Varsity team scored early and often, on their way to a 5-2 victory. Three of the Saints goals came from Athlete of the Week Grace Bowers. The JV team led 1-0 most of the game, then secured the victory in the closing minutes with another goal by co-athlete of the week, Olivia Welty - her second of the game - to make the final 2-0.

Varsity Football

The Varsity Football team traveled to Clear Spring on Friday night looking to avenge last seasons loss to the Blazers. They did that and more. The Saints opened scoring up early with a pass to the flats from Tyler Rehman to Cole Menas, who went for 36 yards and a touchdown. On the next series, John Metchie intercepted a pass and took that 80 yards for the score. On the last play of the first quarter Jalen Anderson took a hand off 82 yard to give the Saints a 20-0 lead. The Saints never looked back and cruised to a 41-0 win, and now sets their sights on Mercersburg Academy.
