I am very excited to announce the hiring of Kevin Breslin as the newest basketball coach at Saint James School. Kevin comes to Saint James after being the basketball coach at the FastBreak Basketball Club in Singapore where he coached 16 different teams throughout Southeast Asia, China, and Australia. Prior to that Kevin served as an assistant coach at the Johns Hopkins University.
I have known and admired Kevin for many years. He played and coached under 2 Hall of Fame guys for whom I have the highest respect, Cokey Robertson and Bill Nelson. He scored 1388 points and is the 6th All Time leading scorer at St. Maria Goretti. While at Goretti he was a 2 time All Baltimore Catholic League honoree. He continued his playing career at Washington College where he was an All Centennial Conference performer. He scored over 1500 points in his college career.
Kevin is a high character guy with a strong set of morals and principles. He is a kind and mannerly gentleman off the court, but an intense and fierce competitor on the court. He has a high basketball IQ, and a high work ethic to match. With his knowledge of the game and his focus on skill development, our kids will benefit tremendously from playing for Kevin. I have no doubt that with Kevin at the helm, our basketball program will continue to compete well and will be in contention for MAC championships for years to come. I am equally confident that Kevin will bring new ideas and new energy to the SJIT that will make our tournament the best and most competitive tournament in the country.
It's going to be fun having Kevin and Nate Naylor spearheading our basketball program. Both are young, dynamic coaches and kids will enjoy playing for them. The future looks very bright for the Saint James Basketball programs.
