Banner Year for Girls' Varsity Teams

Lauran Finn '27

As the year came to an end, SJS athletic director Kacey Michelsen took the opportunity to highlight the growth and improvement of our girls' varsity teams. Every one of our girls’ varsity teams finished the year with either a winning record or more than doubled their wins from the previous year, including: soccer (record: 4-8 to 11-5), field hockey (record: 2-9-1 to 13-2-1, ranked 28th in the state), basketball (record: 3-18 to 10-12), and softball (record: 11-2 to 13-3, ranked 36th in the state). The volleyball team had another strong year while cross country and lacrosse also made great improvement. The tennis team was led by Lauran Finn '27 who was 6-0 at No. 1 singles, including a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 boys' singles against St. Andrew's Episcopal. We also had a separate girls' wrestling team this year, led by Greer Lotsikas '25, who placed first in her weight class in the Admiral Holloway Wrestling Tournament, and Gia Lotsikas '28, who competed at the National Prep Wrestling Tournament. Congratulations, Saints!
