This March, Mr. McDonald brought international trips back to Saint James School after a five-year hiatus following the pandemic. For this spring break trip, he chose the very popular destination of Costa Rica! Twenty travelers joined him on this awesome adventure. The trip was very physically challenging yet highly rewarding! Highlights included multiple hikes around volcanoes and through rainforests, kayaking, white water rafting, tours of pineapple and coffee farms, a demonstration of cocoa history and processing, volcanic hot springs, two shared meals at local homes, waterfalls, and snorkeling. Students and adults on the trip quickly learned that this was not going to be a lounging type of trip and they needed to stay hydrated and motivated. In the end, many students and adults left Costa Rica changed for the better and mentally stronger. This was all because the tour director Andres showed them an authentic experience of the country that he is so proud of and made sure everyone on the trip was taken care of and got the most out of the journey.
