Saint James School Opens 2020-2021 School Year

Saint James School opened the 2020-2021 school year with both boarding students learning on campus and virtual students learning at home. In order to stagger their arrival, boarding students moved in from August 29 through September 5. Classes started on September 7 for all students. Boarding students initially stayed in small cohort groups, learning online from their dorm rooms until a second round of negative COVID tests for all students and faculty allowed them to move to in-person classes on September 14.

Campus routines look different--with one-way directional signs in classroom buildings, multiple seatings at meals, and face masks required by all. Students gather with advisory groups at various locations on campus to watch chapel together--with only the chapel leadership team physically present. In addition, many of our teachers spent the summer preparing enhancements to the online experience for students who started the year virtually. We will review our policies and protocols monthly and adapt as necessary for this one-of-a-kind school year. We invite you to read more about the School's opening plans.
