Medical forms need to be completed and signed by your child’s physician during the annual physical examination. All medical forms are due no later than July 25th, 2026. 

Please send completed forms via email as a pdf to tlum@stjames.edu OR fax to 301-671-2591. A jpeg or picture sent via email will not be accepted.

Medical Insurance

All students are required to provide proof of medical insurance. Please scan the front and back of your insurance cards and send these along with your medical forms to Nurse Teresa Lum. International students should visit the ISM insurance website to review and purchase the required health/medical insurance.

2026-2027 Academic Forms are now available in Veracross.

To access these forms in Veracross, click on Family Profile > click the School Policies tab > select 26-27 Academic Forms.

Students will not be permitted to begin pre-season athletics, register on Welcome Day, or move into the dorms until the 2026-2027 Academic Forms and the annual Medical Forms have been completed and submitted. This is a yearly expectation for both new and returning students.

All forms must be received and approved by the School prior to arrival in August.

Summer Reading, 2026

The English Department has created reading assignments for all students, new and returning, to encourage and reinforce the idea of Saint James School as a community of readers. This common experience, and these shared stories, will hopefully create lively and new conversations, friendships, and classroom discussions in our opening fall days together. The texts listed below may be purchased through our partnership with MBS. To order, simply visit our online bookstore (https://bnck-12.com/stjames), select the appropriate course, view the required summer reading text, and check out. Happy reading!

Late arrivals and absences must be communicated with Mrs. Parish and/or Nurse Lum by emailing SJSattendance@stjames.edu. If your child is ill and will not be in school, please notify us prior to morning Chapel (8:00 a.m.) 

If you are picking up your child for an appointment, please let us know as far in advance as possible, noting the times for pick up and return. All students should be picked up in the upper parking lot of Alumni Hall after they have signed out in the Academic Office. Students should sign in when they return with Mrs. Parish during the academic day or by calling the duty phone after 3:00 PM. Any student who will miss a day of classes must also complete an anticipated absence form which can be picked up in the academic office. Failure to do so may result in demerits.

Any boarder who wishes to leave campus for the weekend must receive the Dean of Students’ permission. In order to do this, the boarder must log-in to their Reach Boarding account and apply for leave. Applications must be done by 11 p.m. on Wednesday. A permission email will then go to the parent/guardian as well as the host (if applicable). If the student is going to visit a schoolmate’s home, permission must come from the student’s own parent and host parent. Permissions may also be granted by any of the following means:

Our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program requires all new and returning SJS students to have laptops (no iPads or tablets) that meet the specifications below:

The school provides a Microsoft 365 subscription license for the duration of the student’s enrollment. Each student should also have a sturdy carrying case for transporting the laptop to and from classes.
