Greetings from the Dean's Office! Dear Parents and Guardians, As this letter is being sent, some of our international students have already departed to see their families for the first time since August. Students living closer to campus will mostly be leaving tomorrow for the holidays at home, and some of our international students will stay in the United States with other relatives or friends. Wherever our students and families are for the next two weeks, we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I hope this special time is restful and filled with generosity, kindness, and love. When we return from the holidays for class on Tuesday, January 4, there will be a sleep late day with modified dress and classes beginning at 9:25 with A block. Hopefully, this allows any late arrivals some time to sleep and get unpacked before we move into the fast moving two weeks before midterms. In addition to that special schedule on Tuesday, we will have added safety requirements as we reopen the campus in January. Due to new and unknown variables created by the Omicron variant, we are taking the steps outlined below to ensure we open safely and can resume our regular schedule as quickly as possible without added risk. - All students must arrive on campus with a negative PCR Covid test administered on 12/31 or later.
- Students will be tested again on 1/10 during their free period or chapel after spending seven days back at school.
- Students will be required to wear masks in dorm until we receive the results from their second tests.
- Finally in that same window, students will eat with other students from the same team or afternoon activity. This will apply to breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Sincerely, David Hutchings Dean of Students |
