Greetings from the Dean's Office! Dear parents and guardians, With AP exams ending today, there will be a mass exhalation for many of our students. Life on campus is moving full speed ahead as our sixth form students have increasingly more "lasts" each week. With only two more weeks of class remaining before exams for students in the second through fifth forms, we are all still focused and busy. As it serves as a small break between AP exams and our exams, I hope this weekend allows for a mental break and reset for our students. Our boys' lacrosse team hosts a home MAC tournament game today at 5:30 pm. Following the game, our musicians will perform in the Pohanka Fine Arts Center for the Spring Fling. For those in the audience, these will be opportunities to appreciate the hard work and accomplishments of other members of our community. Next week, we will be equally busy celebrating students on campus and enjoying our remaining time together. First, the students in our confirmation class with Father Montgomery will be confirmed during chapel on Thursday, May 19th. Next, students in the fifth and sixth forms along with their guests will attend prom the evening of the 20th. There will be special schedules for classes beginning Wednesday of that week. The next morning, about 70 students and chaperones will head to Hershey Park for a day of rides and excitement. Sunday, Kitty Zhou, class of 2020, will return to campus for a piano recital in the Teach Recital Hall in the Pohanka Fine Arts Center. Each event promises to be fun and engaging for our students in unique and meaningful ways. With the end of the year approaching, we expect many local students will spend some time at home between now and the end of the year. Please be mindful of the upcoming move-out date and help us by bringing some unused or out-of-season clothing and other items from the dorm back home. Getting a head start on packing and emptying the dorms will help students, their families, and the dorm faculty as the final pack and clean will come at a very busy time. For distance boarders, bins are available for purchase in the school store and can be used to store items over the summer in anticipation of next year. Please see Mr. Cyr-Redcross in the school store if you would like to order storage bins. Finally, please continue to share flight information and ride requests for June 5th and 6th as soon as possible. With so many students leaving at once, we want to organize all rides as early as possible. For those of you coming to Saint James for Commencement in order to travel home with your children, we are excited to welcome you to campus. Sincerely, David Hutchings Dean of Students |

From the Office of College Counseling For graduating sixth formers, all accounts must be settled with the Saint James School Business Office before final transcripts can be sent to colleges and universities where students are matriculating. Institutions will need final transcripts to verify completion of high school and enrollment in fall courses, so families need to be sure to make arrangements accordingly. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2022 in the coming weeks. | From the Academic Office EXAM WEEK ATTENDANCE FOR DAY STUDENTS Day students will be required to sign-in and sign-out on exam days (May 31-June 3) in the Academic Office with Mrs. Martirano. |

From the School Nurse The nurses of the Meritus Health Mobile COVID-19 Vaccination Unit will be on campus to administer COVID-19 vaccine boosters to students and employees from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, May 13 in the Wrestling Room. This will be the final occurrence of this monthly offering for the 2021-2022 school year. Please refer to this CDC article for information regarding the booster and your eligibility. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, then please complete and return this Meritus COVID-19 Vaccine Administration Consent form to nurse@stjames.edu at your earliest convenience. Please note that if you have already had two doses of the SinoVac or SinoPharm COVID vaccines at least 6 months ago, then (according to the current WHO and CDC guidelines) you are eligible to receive your Pfizer or Moderna booster. COVID-19: Now that masks are optional, we still encourage our campus community to remain vigilant regarding their health. - We ask that everyone on campus report the onset of COVID-like symptoms to the Infirmary, wear a mask, and promptly take a Rapid COVID Test in an effort to minimize the overall impact to our campus.
- Students and employees who have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 may take a Rapid COVID Test at least 5 days after the last known exposure to the positive person, or sooner if they become symptomatic. Tests are available in the Infirmary.

Personally, I am looking forward to taking a group of students for a run/walk along the canal followed by coffee. We all look forward to a fun and relaxing weekend. |
