PARENT NEWSLETTER

SJS Newsletter: Spring is in the air

Greetings from the Dean's Office!

Long weekend is just around the corner, which means we are also getting ready for all the things that mean Commencement is near: AP Exams, the Second Form Trip to D.C., Hershey Park, and of course, prom.  This year's prom will return to Musket Ridge Golf Course and will be on May 17th.  So don't be surprised if you child asks to go shopping for their dress or tux while home over break.  If students hope to get a tux through the School's vendor, Potomac Bridals, April 17th is the last day to do so.  More information on that here.

Along with this, I want to make sure that parents are aware of extra charges that accompany them. Please be aware of the following charges that students may put on their accounts:

  • Prom Ticket
  • Tuxedo Rental
  • Hershey Park Ticket
  • Sixth Form boys- graduation pants & tie

If you have any questions or concerns about charges on your student's account, please contact me or the Business Office.

There are many recurring and new announcements below, so please be sure to read on.

Sincerely,

Steve Lachut
Dean of Students

Parents and students who have confirmed their interest with Mrs. Lachut are invited to attend an informational meeting during Alumni Weekend (time and location TBA). We are thrilled about the level of interest shown by both students and parents and are already looking forward to a meaningful journey next March.

From The Parents Association:

Thank you to those who have donated to the Annual Fund!  There is still time and we desperately need your help to hit 100%.  We can't do it without everyone's help.  We are still falling short and hopefully, we can all step up just as the Trustees, faculty and entire staff do!  Current parents should leading the way! Make your gift online.

Please take a minute to visit our volunteer website iVolunteer.  We have lots of opportunities to get on campus and help before the end of the year. We are ALWAYS in need of help. Our concession's sales support the school in ways such as: the senior leadership experience, senior ornaments, senior gifts, staff Christmas gifts, Next Level board for Alumni to name a few! We truly can't do it without volunteers. We hope to see more new faces this spring. Thank you to our new and old volunteer's willingness to jump in and help.
